Club History
On November 11, 1985 at the former Hardeeās Restaurant six Zionsville men; Joe Bear, Rick Noland, Allan Winters, John Henry, Glenn McDonald and Joe Ewing met to set in motion the process of establishing a Rotary club in Zionsville.

At the meeting on January 9, 1986 we were formally designated a Provisional club by Jim Bradford, District Expansion Chairman, and Joe Bear was introduced as President of the Provisional Rotary Club of Zionsville. The club was now on a schedule of weekly meetings at 7:30 a.m. at Zionsville Christian Church.
At the regular meeting of February 20, 1986, word was received that our Rotary International Charter was approved effective February 13, 1986. That date, February 13, 1986 was then the first official meeting of the Rotary Club of Zionsville Indiana.
The Club had 32 Charter members, including Marc Applegate, Joe Bear, and Dave Busche, who remain as active members today.
The celebration of our Charter was hosted by the Rotary Club of Carmel on March 20, 1986 at the Ritz Charles in Carmel. The event was chaired by Phil Eskew.
We were officially the 36th Club in District 6560 of Rotary International!
